Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As the founding Principal of Mater Virtual at Brighton Lakes, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the parents who are considering or have already chosen our school as their children's educational home. I am committed to carrying out the vision of Mater Virtual at Brighton Lakes, which develops a community of leaders and life-long learners through our innovative college preparatory and leadership programs.

I began my educational career twenty-seven years ago as a Special Education teacher, where I developed an extraordinary appreciation and love for working with special needs students. My tenure with Miami-Dade County Public Schools provided six years of rewarding and enriching experiences that continued with me as I joined the public charter school movement in 2003.

Seeking to increase influence, I shared my expertise obtained through my Master’s degree in Reading and served as the Reading Coach at Mater Academy Middle/High Charter School for two years. With a desire to continue to grow professionally, I pursued certification in Educational Leadership and served as an Assistant Principal at Mater for three years.

At Mater, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each student can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe that education is a collaborative effort, and we value the partnership between parents, teachers, and staff in fostering the growth and success of our students.

We are committed to providing an outstanding education that prepares students not only for academic success but also for becoming leaders in their communities and beyond.
